Steyning Wedding

“We are so pleased with the photos and the amount of them! Thank you!”

Animal lovers Steyning wedding

I first met up with Catherine and Pip about a year before their actual wedding date, to photograph their amazing engagement shoot. We met on a lovely Spring morning on the South Downs. It was an engagement shoot like no other with Christine (Catherine’s horse) and Willow their gorgeous pooch in tow as well. (Just a short year later we would be back on the South Downs for their Steyning Wedding!)

You can check out their engagement shoot here!

I love photographing anything outdoors and to do it in such a beautiful place like the South Downs was such a bonus. Plus of course, I was really beside myself with excitement having Willow and Christine in the photos as well.

Pre-wedding consultation

We had the pre-wedding consultation a few weeks before their wedding to go over timings and wot not for their big day and I have got to admit I was actually a little disappointed when they told me Christine and Willow weren’t going to be coming to their wedding!! ?

I wasn’t disappointed for long though as Catherine and Pip soon told me all about their fab wedding day plans as we came up with their photography timeline for the day.

Not one but TWO amazing venues for Steyning Wedding!

Catherine started her day getting ready at the lovely Tottington Manor along with her bridesmaids and family. Just nestled beneath the South Downs with stunning views, Tottington Manor is a super peaceful, lovely country manor house, very accessible to Brighton (and only a 10-minute drive from home for me too!).

Catherine had wanted a classic romantic feel to her and Pip’s big day. She loved rose gold and wanted to blend with it some of the warmer elements of Autumn so she had some touches of burgundy as well in her colour scheme. Catherine was a picture-perfect relaxed bride, enjoying her morning with her bridesmaids and close family. Toasts, bubbles, giggles and love. What a gorgeous bride and she did look like a princess! Soon it was time to leave for the ceremony just down the road at St Marys House and Gardens Bramber.

Catherine travelled in style with her Dad David driving his stunning vintage Morris car to St Marys.

St Marys House and Gardens Bramber for the ceremony

This was my second time at St Marys House and Gardens. I was last there a couple of years prior for Liz and Mace’s lovely wedding back in 2017. It is such a beautiful setting for a ceremony in the historic pilgrim Inn from c1450. The house is a Grade 1 property that just oozes character….well the gardens are simply stunning!

After a lovely ceremony that had quite a few of us sniffling! it was time for champagne and canapes in the garden. Then whilst everyone else whizzed back to Tottington Manor, Catherine and Pip had a relaxed time for some pix in the beautiful gardens.

Tottington Manor Picturesque Setting

More drinks, group photos with the South Downs surrounding us, and then time for speeches and a lovely meal. As seems to be the case with so many of my wedding couples….the speeches were superb!

I pulled Catherine and Pip outside for some golden hour pix wandering down the nearly deserted Edburton Road with the sun slowly sinking and the South Downs in the background. Gorgeous.

Party time followed and the dance floor was heaving with the amazing singers Beach Belles and Tottington resident DJ.

I loved shooting Catherine and Pip’s Steyning wedding. Everything about it from the beautiful South Downs setting, lovely friends and family and of course our gorgeous bride and groom.
