London Wetland Centre Wedding

“Thank you so much we LOVE them!”

One of London’s Best Kept Secrets!

Wow! what a wonderful amazing day spent with Devon and Rob and their super lovely friends and family, who had travelled far and wide for their London Wetland Centre Wedding. What a fab place to get married with such a beautiful backdrop. This place has got to be one of London’s best-kept secrets! Who’d have know, that you can get married at a wildlife oasis bang in the centre of London! I shoot around half of my weddings in London and always love the vibe of the big smoke!

London Wetland Centre Wedding

Devon and Rob wanted a small outdoor venue for their American/English wedding and both fell in love with the London Wetland Centre as their wedding venue as soon as they went there to view. Devon said she wanted to “feel like she was frolicking in a field of wildflowers!” What an urban oasis the wetland is with its lakes, meadows, ponds and gardens. 105 acres of wildlife reserve in central London, but all with an authentic rural feel – amazing! The couple had their ceremony in the gorgeous Fisherman’s Hut followed by a champagne reception in the stunning Observatory.

Pre-Wedding prep at The Bridge Rooms, Barnes

Devon and her “friend of honour” Kendra got ready in a lush room at the Bridge Rooms, Barnes. Devon’s Mum all the way from the USA helped settle nerves and do up dresses. I love shooting bridal or groom prep, it is so amazing to be able to be in these amazing settings on such huge days in peoples lives. What a privilege. Devon and Kendra were as cool as cucumber on a warm (but slightly overcast, English day! They were so relaxed and lovely to photograph.

Fisherman’s Hut Ceremony

Then it was onwards to the WWT London Wetland Centre and the Fisherman’s Hut for their Ceremony. The moving ceremony was conducted by a close friend of the couple – Dan with Devon’s brother Rory and Rob’s sister Sonia doing the beautiful readings. Group photos and couple photos followed with the rain holding off just long enough for us to get some lovely photos of the newlyweds, in the beautiful natural environment London Wetland Centre with the meadows and ponds and even some geese as a stunning backdrop.

Wedding Reception at the Old Ship Hammersmith

Then we were on to our fourth location for the day, to the elegant and atmospheric riverside pub The Old Ship. The Old Ship has awesome British food, with great views of the Thames to soak up from the balcony. With a great vibe, and a maritime feel perfect setting for Devon and Rob, (and the food was simply stunning)! The classy upstairs drawing room is a lovely intimate room with wood panelled walls, leather seats and an interesting array of portraits on the walls! Devon and Rob both made some beautiful heartful speeches and it was tears, joy and love all around.

What a gorgeous relaxed wedding day and celebration, thank you so much, Devon and Rob, for having me as your wedding photographer, I loved meeting all of your friends and family.
