Hotel du Vin Brighton Wedding

“We honestly cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us yesterday. You were superb from start to finish and made us feel so happy and comfortable on our day. We also had so many people come to us to say how amazing they thought you were and that you were super friendly”

“Oh. My. God. They are absolutely stunning. How wonderful are you? We’re so thrilled with how they have turned out! Thank you so much!  We’re now absolutely buzzing”!

What a love story!  When Kate and Jack got in touch last year to talk about their Hotel du Vin Brighton Wedding photography.  I was mega excited.  These guys are a super relaxed, lovely couple and wanted a “no stress” happy wedding day with loads of dancing, good food and where music and the people were important.  These guys had met when they were at school and had been a couple ever since.

Kate and Jack are both big-time music buffs and love going to gigs.  They both love Brighton, love music and love their families.  For them, they weren’t fussed with getting it “right”.  It was the people and the speeches that were going to be important for them on their big day.

The guys had booked an engagement shoot with their package as they really wanted to feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera on their big day….and boy did they!  These two were naturals.  They didn’t have to try too hard anyway cos their happiness really did shine through all day.  They are such an infectious, fun loving couple to be around.

Hotel du Vin Brighton Wedding

Kate and Jack loved the Hotel du Vin and loved the idea of everything on their wedding day being in one place.  They choose it because they loved the space and quality food.  (With both of Kate’s parents being chefs they had a lot to live up to!), and they did.

Getting Ready

Whilst Jack was getting ready with the guys at the couple’s home in Burgess Hill, Kate and the girls were having a great time with their bridal prep in their gorgeous room at Hotel du Vin.  They even managed to get in some early morning dancing and grooves!  Kate was such a relaxed bride which made for a lovely atmosphere during her bridal prep.   Jack also was Mister Cool, Calm and Collected!  What a gorgeous reaction from Kate’s mum and sister when they came in to see the girls before the ceremony.

The Ceremony and after

The wedding ceremony took place in the lovely huge, airy Dome with its stunning “wineglass” chandelier centrepiece.  After the ceremony, it was outside for everyone for some fab and fun confetti shots, the group photo and then time for the champagne reception.  Meanwhile, I whisked all the bridal party for the first of 3 excursions on to the beachfront!  The weather wasn’t playing ball though and the girls were freezing so we all went for a quick wander then back for some reception drinks.  Kate and Jack were keen to come out again once the rain stopped, which we ended up doing a couple of times.  The Hotel du Vin is so close to the beach front their guests barely knew they were away.  We really maxed out the gorgeous light on the Brighton beachfront during the golden hour and got some truly stunning portraits. The gorgeous people of Brighton never cease to impress me either with all of their calls of “congratulations” to the lovely couple.

The Speeches and pub quiz!

The speeches at this wedding were truly epic!  Plus the guys had incorporated a “pub quiz” into their proceedings which went down a storm!  I’ve never met such a competitive lot at a wedding!  The pub quiz was a superbly run by James from Jump Entertainments and really tested all the guests’ general knowledge on Kate and Jack.

The Party

These guys and their friends and family certainly know how to party.  With James mixing up some great tunes the dance floor was heaving all night!

Kate and Jack had some amazing gifts for their guests and details around the venue.  Each guest was given a CD with the playlist of their favourite tunes.  The theme colour was orange and there were loads of photos of J & K that had been taken over the years.

What an awesome day and night and celebration for Kate and Jack.  I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to be at Hotel du Vin again soon.
