Brighton Beach Wedding

Small intimate weddings can be great fun.  Jo and Chris’s lovely Brighton Beach Wedding was fabulous fun!  Jo and Chris got married at the Brighton Town Hall and then had a cool party with family and friends at Cafe Rust Hove, in Brighton.  When they asked me to be their Brighton Beach Wedding Photographer, I jumped!

“Just wanted to write and say that we absolutely LOVE the photos you’ve taken for us. We were absolutely blown away by the quality – interesting compositions, lots of colour, lots of candid shots of friends and family, and you made me and Chris look great too!  We were excited about how you managed to really capture lots of our friends’ personalities – some of the pics are pretty funny!”

Brighton Town Hall

Jo rang me to book her wedding photography just a couple of months before the big day.  I was super pleased to be available and to be able to shoot her wedding portraits and reception for her. The couple were keen on me capturing plenty of candids and natural photos of their small group of friends and family.  This of course was just my cup of tea!  They had organised for friends to join them afterwards at the super cute Rust Cafe in Hove with it’s lovely upstairs terrace.

I met Jo and Chris and their group of family and friends at the Brighton Town Hall just as they were exiting the building.  They had preferred to just go for photos after their ceremony.  I was there in time to capture the confetti and lovely candids immediately after.  We then all headed back inside for a mini photoshoot on the stairs inside the Town Hall before jumping in a taxi and heading for the beachfront.

The others dropped us off at the gorgeous, ornate Victorian, “Bandstand”.  The Bandstand is a well-loved Brighton landmark and considered one of the best examples of Victorian bandstand’s in England today which all makes for great photos!

Brighton Beach Wedding Couple Portraits

I love Brighton and love shooting wedding portraits on the beach itself.  I always feel very familiar and at home on Brighton Beach.  There were plenty of fun and games for Jo and Chris up my sleeve!  The light was gorgeous.   Stunning spots to get the pix they were after.  They both looked lovely and very happy!  We got some great shots and had a good laugh.  I even managed to get them to do some star jumps on the beach!  You gotta love the people of Brighton.  Loads of people came over to congratulate Jo and Chris and quite a few wanted selfies with the couple!

After about 30 minutes of strolling on the beach and chatting, we headed back to Cafe Rust for the party!

The Party at Cafe Rust Hove

Cafe Rust is a little gem of a venue on George Street.  It has a great roof terrace, rustic decor that I love.  It was just the perfect size for Jo and Chris’s 50 or so guests that came to congratulate and celebrate their marriage. The food was delish.  Plus there were loads of gluten-free options which did go down very well with me indeed!

I didn’t stay all night, but just enough time to get some lovely candid shots of the and when I was leaving their was a lovely happy buzz to the place.

Thank you so much for having me shoot your wedding Jo and Chris.  What lovely people to be around and totally up for anything during their couple portraits!   Congratulations!
